Who We Are
Indie Music For Life is 501(c)3 non profit organization that produces concerts, events, showcases, and compilation CDs each year to raise funds for cancer research and for educational awareness programs on the benefits of music and laughter as therapy to cancer patients. Our vision is to one day have benefit concerts all across the nation that feature independent singer songwriters, musicians, and comedians and to have our compilation CDs stocked in retail stores worldwide. We continue to select some of the finest Indie artists each year through a panel that listens to submissions sent in by artists all around the world. These artists, both music and comedy, are featured on our compilation CD projects. We also work with artists that volunteer to help in concerts, shows, and other special events to raise money in the fight against cancer. Indie Music For Life also has two entities to our non profit known as Laughs For Life and Indiegrrl.
Laughs For Life was added in the program in January 2007 and works on the same principles as the music part of our non profit in that we work with comedians in shows, events, and compilation CDs each year to bring in money for cancer research and for the educational awareness programs implementing the laughter into the therapy.
Indiegrrl is a membership group of independent women singer songwriters of all ages formed in 1998 that sets up showcases, events, and networks together about music industry business and knowledge. In 2006 Indiegrrl was added as part of the Indie Music for Life non profit and pledges donations each year to the charity side of the non profit through part of the annual membership fees, proceeds from larger events featuring the members, and national promotional support.
Our overall goal is to produce high caliber and enjoyable events that the public will want to continue supporting with attendance, and to create a nationally recognized name building a lasting network of artists and supporters, both in the music and comedy industry, and other cancer support organizations, to give strength in the overall growth of this non profit. With success in this goal, we will bring in much needed funds in the fight against cancer.
